i have a new boyfriend, and it's the person who sent me this:

artist lineup from heaven

there are very few ways an artist lineup could be better than the 2004 bonnaroo lineup. the improvements would be as follows:
1) the whole dave matthews band would be there, and i could admire the artistry of boyd's arms -- er, fiddle.
2) my boyfriend jason would be there singing with those oh-so-smooth-and-clear-and-beautiful-and-you-get-the-point pipes of his.
3) nickel creek would be there.

the two greatest ways to wake up

1. to any song by jason mraz. at 5 a.m. when the alarm went off for the first time, "you & i both" was playing. i stayed awake for the whole song, then drifted back to the dream life of rand mcnally.

2. to genesis's "in the air tonight". that was at 6:20. when the song finished, the dj proclaimed that this is the best air-drumming song EVER. i absolutely agree. it's also the greatest use of climax in a song EVER. the song just builds and builds and keeps you waiting and hoping until that fabulous "ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-CH-CH-DTUM". then you just ride the wave of fabulous music to the end of the song.

my immortal

i woke up this morning at 4 when the alarm went off, but i kept hitting snooze until 4:59 when my immortal by evanescence played. i don't know what rock i've been hiding under (it might be called busy season), but even though i've heard the name evanescence a lot, i've never paid attention & couldn't have told you what songs were theirs. so at 4:59 when my immortal came on, i was immediately wide awake. amy lee's voice was haunting me. i could not stop listening. the radio went off at 5 exactly, b/c it goes off an hour after it comes on. i actually GOT UP and turned it back ON. for those of you who know me and know i love to sleep, this will say something significant about this song. anyway, it's absolutely beautiful. i kept trying to place the voice, figure out who it was. but, due to previously mentioned rock, i had no clue. anyway, google helped me out, and now i'm in love with evanescence. better than late than never, right? i don't know anything about them except that neither napster nor itunes has them.
