one of my referrers was some forum thingy where a feller (obviously not a right-winger) has a thing for a Republican girl but doesn't have the first clue how to woo her. i guess we *are* a different breed. translate that however you choose. :) so someone linked to my little corner of the blogosphere and recommended the wooer read up on what i have to say and wash off that hippy stench. the response...
Ahhhhh Sarah, my 2nd favourite Republican gal....another good looking one, must be a Republican thing. That girl in the link is scary, that's not a Republican that's the type of person that joins the Republic of Texas...
remember the Alamo, baby, i LIVE in the Republic of Texas. all hail the mighty state. :)
go Stars.
2nd favorite? The nerve! I think the woo-worthy
Ann Coulter had something to say today about those differences too.

Well, IMHO the only kind of guy worthy of a Republican gal is, of course, a Republican guy. Perhaps this guy has latent Republican tendencies that he is trying hard to suppress. If you ask me, it'a all very creepy.

Bah. If he thinks your (adorable!!!) gun pic is scary, Sarah, he probably thinks that kissing is scary too. He'd best get over his fear of non-smelly-hippy women if he wants to get with a worthwhile woman. :o)

The gun pic is awesome. The only reason he would need to be scared of you is if he had a thing against Christians, conservatism, Texas, and...oh. Right. Perhaps he should be scared.
God Bless Texas.

Well as an old married guy, I wooed a Libertarian, (Mrs. Exile) and that's kind of close. Wait a sec...the booze...the ring...[Bubbles]! I was trapped! Curse you Mrs. Exile! Also hon, if you're reading this, can we have chili tonight?

Exile,
Didn't Senior (Hank Williams) sing a song 'bout eating chili and setting the woods on fire.
This is a great song, that any good Texan would love.
(*just looked it up, see the 4th verse.)
SETTING THE WOODS ON FIRE - Hank Williams
Comb your hair and paint and powder
You act proud and I'll act prouder
You sing loud and I'll sing louder
Tonight we're setting the woods on fire
You my gal and I'm your feller
Dress up in your frock of yeller
I'll look swell but you'll look sweller
Setting the woods on fire
We'll take in all the honkey tonks
Tonihgt we're having fun
We'll show the folks a brand new dance
That never has been done
I don't care who thinks we're silly
You be Daffy and I'll be Dilly
We'll order up to bowls of chili
Setting the woods on fire
I'll gas up my hot rod stocker
We'll get hotter than a poker
You'll be broke but I'll be broker
Tonight we're setting the woods on fire
We'll sit close to one another
Up the one street and down the other
We'll have a time O brother
Setting the woods on fire
We'll put aside a little time
To fix a flat or two
My tires and tubes are doing fine
But the air is showing through
You clap hands and I'll start bowing
We'll do all the laws allowin'
Tomorrow I'll be right back plowing
Setting the woods on fire

Oh, another thing...
The Bible says we should not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. (see 2 Corinthians 6:14-17)
Joshua's paraphrase:
"Don't date or marry outside your political philosophy or faith."
So my advice to the young man would be to discover who and what he is first, then just be yourself and they will come.
("Build it and they will come."- what movie was this, SarahK? I know you know because you are the official movie queen.)

"Build it and they will come"
Is that from the Blockbuster "It's Pat"?

Field of Dreams. Back when Kevin Costner had the appearance of a decent family guy.

Nothing better than a conservative Christian Texas woman with a gun. Well, maybe a conservative Christian Texas woman with a gun and a pizza.

I used to often buy supplies at Auburn Liquor and Guns when in lived in CA. But better than that was a place I visited in the middle of nowhere Montana that was DRIVE THROUGH liquor and guns. If only they had attractive women serving pizza...
