yeah, so there was talk of going out for Indian food, my very very very favorite favorite favorite kind of food. the plans fell through, but with all that talk, i was practically salivating; i don't think i've had Indian food since Little Sizzle and i had it in Flagstaff in October, though i could be wrong...
so i went down to the India Grill, which serves the best Indian food in the Metroplex (that i've had); Valle (owner/chef/waiter/etc.) was wondering where i've been lately. i blamed Sarah H, because i could never get her to try Indian food with me (Vietnamese food, she'd try that! but not Indian! silly girl.). anyway, i ordered the usual, to go, and since dining in at this place takes minimum 2 hours, i figured (correctly) that i'd be there for 45 minutes or so waiting on my to go order.
Valle poured me a yummy glass of mango juice, no charge, and we sat and discussed my life; he even offered to bring a nephew from India for me. "but what if i don't like him? what if he doesn't like me?" "oh, you'll like him; he's just like me, but younger. i'll bring him here, to the United States, for you." LOL. i wonder if he has his uncle's tact... we went there on my 26th birthday, and Valle asked how old i was. "how old do you think i am?" "ummmmm..... 28." big fat jerk, he felt really bad about that one for a long time; for a year or so, when he saw me he'd hug me and tell me that he was so sorry about that, and oh, Sarah, you look so young! bah.
eventually Valle loaded me up with the biggest meal for one person EVER: lots of papad (no charge), aloo paratha (no charge, and enough for 2 people), my shrimp mirch masala (made almost as spicy as i like it), that awesome jasmine rice or whatever it is, yum, and of course my very favorite part of the meal -- those awesome sauces that go with the papad (lots).
i got home and opened everything up... rice, bread with potatoes in it, mirch masala with potatoes in it... eh, ignore the diet, I'M IN HEAVEN.
Sushi..... it's all about sushi!!

I love Indian food. But the best Indian food you can eat only in London or Birmingham United Kingdom.
I used to rent a room from an Indian family i London. There was 7 girls in the house, so they teach me how to cook curries, all different kind of rice and many other delicious dishes. One thing that bothered me there, my clothes started to smell like curry...
Right now where I live there is no good Indian restaurant around :(
